This is not nostalgia and it’s not history written from a safe distance. It’s documentation of contact—the moments when ideas, people, places, and things rubbed against systems that weren’t ready for them yet.
What We Look For
We focus on friction.
The resistance that shaped culture before it learned how to smooth itself.
That includes:
- People who broke modes, ignored norms, or introduced instability before there was language to contain them.
- Places where imperfection was built in—spaces that hadn’t been optimized, sanitized, or professionalized.
- Things that existed in rough form—formats, objects, rules, or systems before they were finalized and made safe.
Not icons.
Not myths.
Not clean success stories.
Just moments where something pushed back.
